Why take a trip on The Deluxe Boat, when it’s more than 2/3 the cost of The StandardPlus Boat? We often receive inquiries asking about the differences between the two. Apparently the glory of our most exclusive trip hasn’t yet been reflected. That’s on us, and hopefully this post will do it justice.

Don’t get us wrong—we love to answer your questions! However, we couldn’t help but wonder why we would receive similar questions over and over again about our once-a-year cruise for men on The Deluxe Boat.

These questions are often not meticulous but instead quite basic: What’s the difference between The StandardPlus Boat and The Deluxe Boat? Aren’t they basically the same sort of vessel? At one point, we took some time looking in and realized, while we know that the boat is beautiful to be on, its beauty is not yet reflected through our pictures. Lesson learned.

Earlier this year, we asked our photographer friend to help us reshoot The Deluxe Boat and do it justice. Are you a fan of architecture, craftsmanship and aesthetics?

This beauty is called ‘Pinisi’, which is the most famous Indonesian sailing vessel. It has been selected for UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. But don’t just take UNESCO’s word for it…

“The woodwork details were lovely. My cabin was perfect. Gorgeous sights and a super-chill atmosphere,” said Jonathan Pasternak, who took a Your Private Journey trip on the boat last year.

Last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several trips had to be cancelled including our once-a-year, exclusive cruise on The Deluxe Boat. That being said, with changes this year and new protocols, we’ll be back on the sea again. The Deluxe Boat trip takes place August 11-17, 2021.

Some of the highlights of this cruise include a rooftop deck where some dinners take place underneath the stars. Our two dedicated chefs are ready to serve delicious, mouth-watering dishes. Imagine a starter like roasted pumpkin soup, followed by Komodo Prawns Thermidor, Chicken Cordon Bleu with Mushrooms, or a local favorite, grilled sweet-and-sour lobster. In the morning, look forward to avocado toast, smoothie bowls, and sizzling bacon with warm pancakes.

Pre-trip we ask guests their food preferences and allergies, and our chefs will happily tailor menus. Vegan? On the keto diet? Lactose-intolerant? Low carb? All needs are met.

If guests want to interact with other guys on a deeper level, we hold space where they can openly talk, share, and listen to each other. It’s called Heart Circle. This space happens to be on the open-air setting of our serene rooftop.

“I loved the interaction with everybody, and getting to know all the guys over the week,” said Bob, from Berkeley, recalling his experience.

If you prefer to just sit back and relax in your cabin, use wifi, or take naps… that is also fine. Clothing is not the only part of this cruise that’s optional!  On this vessel, you do you. Massages and body shaving services are also provided for guests who want to pamper themselves.

The rooftop is also ideal for movie nights.  Imagine yourself enjoying cuddles, while watching motion pictures under the sky with a warm breeze on your skin. The rooftop also hosts activities such as Morning Meditation and Laughing Yoga (yes, laughing yoga – it’s fun!  And funny!)

Kayaks and stand-up paddle boards are also provided in The Deluxe Boat with guides and lessons available for beginners.

The Deluxe Boat is eight meters wide—that’s two meters wider than The StandardPlus Boat. Hence, it’s more spacious, even with the maximum 12 passengers on board. Since it’s a bigger boat, there are 10 all-male crew members.  These guys really know what they’re doing, and are mindful and attentive to guests.

Side note: The Deluxe Boat was originally designated as our gay-only trip and, at one point, a clothed trip. However, we are happy to announce that The Deluxe Boat is now available for all men, and it is also clothing-optional. While all of our trips are now clothing-optional, The Deluxe Boat is specifically designed for travelers seeking a truly luxe experience.

Anton and his husband went on the last The Deluxe Boat trip and acknowledged that they were surprised at how comfortable they were.

“We were traveling to a part of the world, considered remote by many, where infrastructure is usually low. But the amenities and comfort level was perfect,” said Anton, who afterwards gave this same trip to his nephew as a graduation gift.

“He loves clothing-optional environments and has a sophisticated palate. He’s thrilled about his upcoming journey!”
