COVID FAQs

You may have several questions around COVID, with regards to booking an Everything To Sea experience. Whether it’s pandemic measures undertaken by our staff and crew, measures on the parts of our travelers, our policies for changing departure dates, or refunds for trips based upon various scenarios – we aim to be most transparent, so you can be best informed.  We strive for a balance which includes our traveler’s situations and Everything To Sea’s commitments to local contractors, while continuing to run trips for men from all over the globe.

WHAT MEASURES ARE TAKEN BY YOUR CAPTAIN, CREW AND STAFF?

Measures on the part of our staff, including our captain and crew

Pre-Trip Self-Screening – Any staff exhibiting symptoms or having known exposure to someone who is positive for coronavirus will get a viral test before starting a trip. Staff can not engage with an Everything To Sea vessel or villa if they test positive for COVID-19, or if they have experienced symptoms in the 72 hours prior to the start of any trip.

Pre-Trip Screening – Upon reporting for a trip, our staff’s body temperatures are measured with a no-contact digital thermometer and assessed. Any of our staff with a body temperature greater than 100.4°F or who has flu-like symptoms (e.g., cough, body aches) is not allowed to engage with an Everything To Sea vessel or villa and must return to his home.

COVID-19-Trained Staff – All of our staff are trained in COVID-19 safety guidelines and these Protocols.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Use – Facial coverings, as recommended by the CDC, will be worn by any crew interacting with food service and traveler’s cabins; generally the Chef, Chef’s Assistant, and Room Boy, while on vessel or villa, performing work duties.

Equipment Provision – Crew and staff will ensure that soap and water are always available. A supply of facial coverings is available for all parties.

Personal Hygiene – Our staff are encouraged to take frequent breaks for hand washing or disinfecting of hands with a sanitizer. Hand washing is to be performed with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, as recommended by the CDC.

Enhanced Sanitizing and Disinfecting – Staff disinfect the vessel or villa regularly during the day, and at the end of each day. Particular attention is paid to bathrooms and touchpoints.

Daily Temperature Checks – Our staff’s body temperatures are measured with a thermometer and assessed. Anyone with a body temperature greater than 100.4°F or  flu-like symptoms (e.g., cough, body aches) will be directed to return to their homes.

Regular Updates – Everything To Sea will communicate with travelers booked on trips, to help them stay abreast of changing circumstances and policies.

WHAT MEASURES SHOULD I CONSIDER TAKING FOR TRIPS?

You are encouraged to:

Purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance – After booking, consider purchasing insurance that covers trip costs should you get sick, and if available, the option known as “Cancel For Any Reason”.

Self Screen Pre-Trip – While still in your home area, you should perform a self-health check prior to starting your trip. If you have a temperature greater than 100.4°F or flu-like symptoms (e.g., cough, body aches) you are advised not to begin travel.

Increase Attention to Personal Hygiene – You should get into the habit of refraining from touching your nose, mouth, and eyes. Regular hand washing should be done with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.

You may be required to:

Have a PCR/Swab test in your departure country. In some destinations, a person with a positive test result for COVID-19 may be unable to enter the country.

WHAT IF EVERYTHING TO SEA NEEDS TO CANCEL MY DEPARTURE, DUE TO THE PANDEMIC?

Should Everything To Sea need to cancel any trips due to the coronavirus situation, we would do so six weeks before the departure date. This includes any arising health crisis or inability on our part to run a trip.  Note that the coronavirus situation is evolving with regards to governments, and there is always the chance that an inability to enter the country/locale of our travel regions can arise, resulting in a termination of a trip with less than six weeks notice. In all cases, travelers could move their booking to any other trip that still has space on our calendar, up to one year out from the trip’s departure date. There would be no charge for doing so.

Travelers could also request a full refund of the trip by email, excluding unrecoverable costs. Everything To Sea is committed to issuing a return within one week of an email request. Unrecoverable costs include credit card processing fees, deposits, and already made payments with our local contractors. We try hard to recover as much of our travelers’ money as possible.

WHAT IF I’M BOOKED ON A TRIP BUT AT DEPARTURE TIME, AM UNABLE TO LEAVE MY COUNTRY DUE TO GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS?

Contact us via email, requesting a change of departure.  Send it to hello@EverythingToSea.com. Please include clear documentation from your government that travel will be restricted for at least one of the days of your trip, or any date of up to 30 days before its start, or three days after its end. Rebookings can be made for any departure date on our calendar that still has availability.
